About Michael F. Demyen, MD
Dr. Demyen is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. His clinical interests include colon cancer screening and prevention, functional diseases of the esophagus, nutrition and the intestinal microbiome, and liver disease. He received his MD from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ)-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (now Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School). He did an internal medicine residency at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School and was chief resident at East Orange VA Medical Center, after which he did a gastroenterology fellowship, also at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. In addition to English, Dr. Demyen speaks Spanish.
I’m excited to join Park Medical and develop productive and lasting relationships with patients. Problems in the GI tract can be complicated and can lead to diminished quality of life, and patients are often hesitant to speak about traditionally "private" issues. My goal is to listen and connect with patients so we can discuss these issues together and find the simplest, least invasive ways to treat their ailments and restore their quality of life.
