About Irina Kaplounov, MD

Dr. Kaplounov is board certified in gastroenterology. In addition to diseases and disorders of the digestive tract, including acid reflux diseases (GERD), irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis), celiac disease, and colon cancer, she specializes in the treatment of chronic liver conditions, including cirrhosis, chronic hepatitis C, and hepatobiliary diseases.

Dr. Kaplounov completed her fellowship training at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital and at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. She is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association and the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Kaplounov practices at the Gastroenterology Group of Northern New Jersey and participates in Englewood Hospital's bloodless medicine program. In addition to English, Dr. Kaplounov speaks Russian.
