Ammar Haikal, MD

Ammar Haikal, MD, is a rheumatologist and internist. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory rheumatic diseases, including arthritis, lupus, vasculitis, and connective tissue disorders. Dr. Haikal earned his MD from the University of Damascus and completed clinical rotations at top institutions including Yale, Mayo Clinic, University of Connecticut and Case Western. Subsequently, he completed his internal medicine residency and rheumatology fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Haikal is passionate about leveraging his trilingual fluency in English, Spanish and Arabic to provide culturally sensitive care and improve access for diverse patient populations. Being able to communicate directly with patients allows him to build trust and deliver more effective, patient-centered care. He is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American College of Rheumatology. Dr. Haikal joined the Englewood Health Physician Network in 2026.
